Should Schools Fingerprint Your Kids?

Obviously, there are huge privacy concerns here. But there are also real benefits; in the long-term, it will allow for everything to be personalized. The key, though. is trust: only those you trust to not violate your privacy should have access to very personal data. Do you trust public schools and the US government? -- KM

The lunch lines weren't fast enough for the head of food programs at the Boulder Valley school district. Kids had barely enough time to sit and eat before the lunch period was over. Then a new technology was discovered that would allow a scanner to identify a kid qualified for lunch with the swipe of a finger. It turned out to be the perfect storm.
