When my colleague and I started working on our business in the fall of 2004, our vision was very blurry. We had only a few guiding lights -- points which we feel are still valid today:
1. Content is going to be free and open licensed -- embracing this principle is essential to building the next new media empire
2. Communities are where it's at
3. Niche communities are even more of where it's at
4. The "next big thing" is more about a management revolution than a technical one
5. The "next big thing" will naturally end up competing not only with corporations but also with nation-states and governments
6. The Internet is great for education, and this is a largely underdeveloped opportunity
As we began developing business processes for how we would go about creating learning communities, our most important focus was that we made stuff easy to learn. Kathy Sierra's idea of
helping users kick ass to turn them into passionate users was an idea we believed very strongly in -- and still do.
It is in this spirit that I created a
New World Order Learning Section here on KidMercuryBlog. It's your guide to the most important issue of our time: the New World Order, the term given to the network of secret societies, intelligence agencies, multinational corporations, and central banks that are seeking to create a one-world socialist government.
Check it out and open your eyes.
Next step:
distribution and monetization. More on that later.
