Brian Shaler + Google Gears = "Search Your Own Diggs" Feature is Back!

As a proof-of-concept for his lectures on the future of web services, Brian Shaler shows how server-intensive functionality on user-specific datasets can be pushed to the client. Platforms like Gears and Adobe AIR are bringing databases to the client. The result: "Growing Pains" and hardware costs are reduced, even while adding new functionality.
