Jason Calacanis
recently commented on how he created a new class of work at Netscape (paid social news voters), and is creating a new class of work at Mahalo (paid serp makers).
New classes of work are definitely where it's at. It's about the fact that computer intelligence is commoditized, and thus human intelligence built atop computer intelligence can add real value in the attention allocation game (i.e. the search game, the intermediary game, the Mother game). The fact that JDawg understands this gives him a huge leg up on competitors who don't.
What JDawg may have overlooked, though, is that the real opportunity is in leveraging commoditized technology to help humans express their creativity. In other words, commoditized technology should not be the foundation for sweatshop 2.0, but rather should be the foundation for creativity 2.0.
But enough about Jason. We have something very special planned for JDawg -- a gift to help him be the hero he was born to be. But that is for another time.
Let's talk about
YOU.
You're a creative Internet professional. Maybe a blogger, a podcaster. A search marketer. An artist.
I'm looking to test out custom social networks I build in front of an audience.
I'll build it -- but you get them to come.
As the social networks I build are designed to be personalized for the end user, they are ideal for behavorial targeting, which will be more relevant for users, more effective for advertisers, and more lucrative for us.
I'll customize the social network according to your marketing strategy (for instance, if you are a search marketer, I can pull in RSS feeds with keywords you're looking for). We can split the ad revenue 50/50.
If you're interested, email me at kidmercury [at] kidmercuryblog [dot] com and we can discuss all the details.
