Introducing the Kobe Bryant diss song
I just wrote a diss song for Kobe Bryant. walrusoflove alerted me that an ESPN columnist, Bill Simmons, said he would promote a song dissing Kobe Bryant, since apparently there is some song dissing Ray Allen for his performance in Game 7. I thought this would be a good promotional opportunity for myself and the business plan that saves the world.
I'm not feeling 100% good about this song. Do you think the lyrics are too harsh? The thing is, in order to write a good diss song, you have to find the truth your opponent is afraid of (see my previous blog on how to beef). So I had to mention the rape charge, as he is definitely trying to get past that. Based on my research, I don't think he violated her in that way, though what he definitely did do and has admitted is cheat on his wife with the woman accusing him of rape. That's where his vulnerability in the beef gets exposed, and where I thought the opportunity was. At this point, I don't think it's too mean (diss songs are supposed to have an edge them anyway), but as with all my antics, Kobe does have the opportunity to use his celebrity to support 9/11 truth; if that is done, the song gets taken down, and I'll probably write a new one, calling him the best player ever. Because, if he did support 9/11 truth, that's exactly what he would be. Ironically writing this song reminded me a bit about why I am so over the top passionate about 9/11 truth; I used to be a bit more deceptive, a person of weaker moral character. But of course, I eventually learned what stupid idea that was, and how serving the truth is a much better way of living -- and then, as I became aware of the truth about 9/11, how that would be a great way to learn from my mistakes and make a positive contribution to the world. Let us hope Kobe can learn the same lesson. I am open to hearing other people's perspectives. If you think the song is too mean and inappropriate, do feel free to share your thoughts. |

thanks for your honest feedback. i was concerned the song would lack potency without the harsh blows; that it would be soft and silly, and thus easily dismissed, especially since they won. at this point i'm planning on thinking about it over the weekend, i may take it down after that. that's what i'm leaning towards.
i encourage anyone else who has thoughts on the subject to share them here if they'd like. |

too harsh
I love the songs premise. Great job. The lyrics can be harsh, but vulgarity was too much.
I would say be harsh in other ways. That will make it a winner. I was all set to post it on my blog NESW Sports , but the lyrics stopped me. |

thanks for your comment. i slept on it, and woke up this morning still not feeling good about it, so i'm going to take it down. i may try to come up with a cleaner version, though not sure i can pull it off. we'll see. thanks again for your feedback. i'm taking it down and will do a blog post on that shortly. |
