My Consultation With Astrologer Erin Sullivan
I just got off the phone with Erin Sullivan, an astrologer I had an appointment with. This is the first astrologer I've had a consultation with in nearly seven years. I selected Erin because I read one of her books on the planet Saturn, which I found to be a truly outstanding and insightful book -- for those studying astrology who understand the basics of chart reading, I highly recommend it.
Before I get into some of what Erin and I discussed, I wanted to highly recommend her as an astrologer. I found the session to be quite worthwhile. For those who are skeptical of astrology, it's worth noting that Erin's approach is rooted in psychology as well. So if you're looking for an astrologer, I recommend Erin. As my business grows, I plan to hire Erin as my business astrologer. Over on Fred's blog we talked a few weeks back about CEO coaches; personally I don't think that's for me, although the idea of a CEO therapist is something I do think is quite valuable, and I think Erin would be great for that for me. Here are some key points we talked about: 1. She said she hated conspiracy theories! LOL, imagine my disappointment. She did acknowledge, though, that she's now starting to feel as though some of them are true. Of course, as Boston told us, it's more than a feeling.....Erin did suggest that I should turn down the kook, and that there is a danger I could think myself out of reality -- and that some of my fantasies/dreams/visions, which were a big part of why I contacted her in the first place (i.e. trying to find out what they mean, why I'm having trouble shaking them, etc), may be a sign of this. LOL. I think I'm going to take Erin's advice on this one for at least a few months. I'll stick to the factual side of being a conspiracy theorist, and as regular readers know, I spend a lot of time focusing on the facts, and being a diligent researcher. But I'll try to take a break from the weirder stuff (i.e. aliens, telepathy, past lives, time travel....lol you know it's neverending with me!) 2. She said I should consider a career as a musician. Has to be the bazillionth person whose told me that -- the psychics/astrologers definitely love to tell me that. I don't have the passion to go through the suffering required to pursue that, though; I'm only interested in songwriting, not any of the other stuff required. As such, Bedroom rock stardom is much more my thing -- i.e. just make some videos from your home, upload them to iTunes....now you can even turn it into a game on Rock Band via TuneCore....lol, that's what I'm talking about! But if I'm going to go the homeless/suffering route for anything, it's definitely going to be for my Internet business dreams (i.e. The Business Plan That Saves the World!). Though I often think that if this Internet thing all suddenly falls apart, being a homeless bum who plays music on the street for tips might be something I'd do. Getting a normal job would just destroy me psychologically. Now you know why I work so hard at my business: it's my only option! 3. As the conversation shifted to my business, she said there were strong themes related to "other people's money," and raising money in some way. Finding investors is something I've discussed before on this blog, but I haven't put too much effort into it. Obviously the kook factor is going to be a dealbreaker for most investors, plus the fact that I view the startup investing market as one that is set for a massive transformation, so I'm not comfortable with many investors whose methods are inconsistent with the key disruptive trends I favor (specifically microfinance, virtual currencies, social/knowledge capital, and liquidation opportunities independent of publicly traded markets). Regular readers may recall that I dedicated our national anthem here at Kid Mercury's Blog, "Proud to be a Conspiracy Theorist," to the venture capital community, in hopes that they will embrace the truth that sets them free. LOL, definitely one of my favorite jokes. Of course, as always, the humor is in the truth. An interpretation of the "other people's money" energy that will be hitting my birth chart in the coming months is raising money for traders on my trading site. That is something I've already launched and have raised some funds from community members. As our track record grows, I think it's quite possible that there will be some great opportunities for raising money for traders. Certainly that will be a key focus of mine in the months to come. 4. The remainder of the year does seem to be quite interesting astrologically, something I had observed earlier in my own astrological intepretation. I kinda view this year as really starting for me next week, March 10, when Mars turns direct. Saturn will cross back over 27 degrees Virgo, where it is in my natal chart, in May -- so I'll get my Saturn Return again. I also have a bunch of planets aspecting my midheaven, which relates to career and public identity. Basically, I think there is a great opportunity for my business to become more stable. In a way my business has been fairly stable since I turned 28 -- at least stable enough to weather a few catastrophes, like the departure of my business partner. But it's not stable to the point where I can launch other sites. Now, though, I'm starting to get a bit more breathing room in terms of profit margins, I'm still talking to some businesses about a potential partnership/partial acquisition which could really take my trading site to the next level, and most importantly, the blueprint I've been working on for how to create a niche community with the highest possible profit margins is nearing the final steps of completion (the blueprint will probably be fully complete within a couple weeks....I'll be blogging about it for sure ). This is a vision I've been working on for literally over six years and is something I pretty much regard as the crowning achievement of my life; even if the business were to fall apart tomorrow, I can at least take pride in knowing that my vision, which everyone and their dog said was stupid and would never make money, did in fact work (granted, my stupid ass sure did get lucky in some ways, but you know how it is: the harder you work, the luckier you get). So that's a summary of some of the stuff I'm willing to disclose. If you ever need a therapist, don't go to a therapist. Go to an astrologer who understands psychology instead. I think you'll find Erin Sullivan to be a great choice. |
