About Today's Lunar Eclipse
In addition to being new year's eve, today is a lunar eclipse. Here are some points to consider from an astrological perspective:
1. Eclipses are points of greater sensitivity. This means emotions run higher, and that feeling that the Universe is talking to you is more likely and more meaningful. You're more likely to get "a sign." 2. By extension, it can be effective to take action on eclipses, as you can create a sign. I kind of think of it as a good day to pray, although by prayer I really mean more like meditating, or simply focusing your intentions -- I'm referring less to the type of prayer that is about asking for wishes (i.e "Please God give me XXXXX"). 3. Eclipses represent psychological shifts. It is useful to think back to when the previous eclipse was; something that happened there may evolve at eclipse. There were three eclipses back in July and early August (a rather rare event to have three eclipses in a five week span; eclipses typically come in pairs, with a six month gap between pairs). To give a personal example, the July/August eclipses were when my business colleague quit; now, at this eclipse pair (meaning today's eclipse and the solar eclipse in two weeks), we may be gearing up for the next phase, which would involve a sale of his equity stake. 4. As eclipses come in pairs (lunar eclipse and solar eclipse), the time between the lunar and solar is also a part of the psychological shift. Lunar is generally more about inner/emotional changes, with solar being more about external events, taking action, etc. 5. What part of your life the eclipse illuminates/energizes is dependent upon your birth chart. You can read horoscopes for some insight, through really a full on chart reading/consultation is what is needed. I've been meaning to get a reading from Erin Sullivan, she is truly a brilliant astrologer (I've read a bunch of her writings -- very insightful), and she does business consultations too. Maybe I'll do that this eclipse. Have a safe and happy New Year's Eve. |
