Well, I don't listen to that much new music these days; increasingly, I listen to just a few albums/songs, but I listen to them A LOT. So, for a broader perspective, you should probably check out
Fred's list. Although Fred did not include a single Kid Mercury track, so you do have to question his taste in that regard!
Personally, I wrote 14 original songs, plus a bunch of covers. Actually 15 originals, although one I didn't upload because I thought it sucked too much (well, maybe it would be better with another singer, but was not working with my voice).
Click here for my catalog. I'm most pleased with
Proud to be a Conspiracy Theorist and my cover of
Opposites Attract. The latter I don't think is actually that great, but rather I was trying to figure out a version of that song for the longest time, so I was elated when I found something I thought was workable.
I'm curious as to what 2010 holds.
Heather Vaughn, a psychic I recently had a session with, said I need to take music more seriously. She said a bunch of other things too that really got me thinking. Man I been too a lot of psychics and weird spiritual people, regular readers know I'm all into that type of stuff. Heather was one of the more memorable sessions I had, she said some things that left an impression on my mind. I recommend her, if you're into that type of stuff.
Progressing Towards the Future of Music
Regular readers know that something we discuss fairly regularly here is what the future of music business models look like -- see
our archive on this subject. The proliferation of musicians on Tumblr, Twitter, and Ning is a nice sign of progress in the right direction. Though the major milestone I'm eagerly awaiting is when Crapple is dethroned as the primary driver of the digital music economy.
