The Complex Economy
We live in an economy of complexes.
The military-industrial complex. The pharmaceutical complex. The private prison complex. A complex is when all the elements of a system are geared towards an end that is not necessarily advantageous. The US government is a complex. All the factors that control the US government are geared towards war. ![]() Wall Street is one big complex. The financial industry in the US is geared towards speculation, and creating new things to speculate on -- not towards investing in production. This is an inevitable consequence of perpetual inflation of the money supply. As we recently discussed, it all starts with monetary policy. But we are coming upon the moment of awakening, during which society will awaken to these complexes, as these complexes cease to function. But, for now, we are still in the phase where folks are trying to perpetuate the complexes, hopeless as such efforts are. In particular, to keep the economy going, I am wary of the following complexes: 1. Carbon credits. Could be the new thing to gamble on. The incentives are lining up that way. 2. Gold. Ironically because the truth is spreading, gold mania is growing, and Wall Street could try to get a piece of it. In fact, they already seem to be, as they continue to create more gold-oriented financial instruments to trade. I recommend trading the real thing. |
