It All Starts With Monetary Policy
It all starts with monetary policy.
1. The current monetary policy basically allows government to create as much money as they want.(Some folks debate this, but I think they don't understand how things are connected politically. In any event money supply has been steadily increasing over the past 35 years). 2. Government always has the incentive to inflate the money supply (i.e. print more money). When government inflates the money supply, it devalues the money in existence and transfers it to whoever is getting the new money (probably defense contractors). 3. So basically, perpetual inflation of the money supply continues to transfer wealth from poor people to those close to government (who then in turn invest it in financial markets, creating bubbles and a very speculative environment). So prices rise, but stock prices rise more -- meaning those who don't have stocks (poor) are experiencing higher costs while wealth is being transferred to those who do own stocks (financiers). 4. As a result, the middle class starts to disappear. 5. Families need two working parents to get by. 6. Because they need two working parents to get by, public schools and television are more easily able to undermine parental authority. As things get worse, and as Americans are increasingly left with no choice but to awaken from their slumber, many stories will be thrown your way as explanations. Just remember: it all starts with monetary policy. |
