Looks Like We'll Need to Re-do the MTV Commercial

This morning I woke up to receive an email from SaysMe.tv -- they found my blog post and wanted to help me get set up with their service. I spoke with a member of their team via phone as well. How awesome is that? There's a company that's hustling, I give props to that. Gotta hustle if you want to win.

Anyway, the gentleman I spoke to at SaysMe.tv checked out my video, and said that it would likely need a higher production quality to get approved for air on MTV. He and I have the same understanding -- which is that media production technology is getting so cheap that anyone can do it, and that is the true revolution -- but that the old school media tycoons are slow to embrace things like a guy with a flip camera trying to make a television ad, and SaysMe.tv doesn't have enough clout yet to push it through. So I'll need something a bit more polished.

If there are any videographers that want to help, let me know. If there are any truthers reading this who have their own web site and videography skills, I'd be happy to try to work an arrangement where you can drop your URL in the commercial as well, so that we both benefit -- and most importantly the truth will benefit even more.

After the conversation with the guy from SaysMe.tv, I think the ad actually could get approved if it is of sufficient production quality. I thought for sure it would get rejected based on subject matter, but after my phone conversation I was left with the impression that that would not be too much of a problem. I don't want to get my hopes up too much, though.

Anyway, I'm going to work on a few more videos. Probably some with me playing guitar as well, as that is one idea the guy from SaysMe.tv had. Ultimately the "dude in his bathroom" approach might be a problem. I think one of those plain, monochrome backgrounds might be better.

The song for the post is "I Hate the TV" by the Violent Femmes. I used to be a huge Femmes fan, definitely one of the bands that made me say, "man, I gotta learn how to do that" -- "that" being write songs on an acoustic guitar.
