Major URL Shorteners Unite To Fight Dead Links

After the closure announcement â?? and then sudden re-opening â?? of short URL service Tr.im, thereâ??s been some uncertainty about the widespread use of short URLs on sites like Twitter (Twitter). How do you know that the URL company wonâ??t just start redirecting the links to somewhere else? Or what happens if that short URL provider shuts down?
