Interpreting Recent Eclipses
Well today is a lunar eclipse. Astrologically, eclipses are sensitive points, in which time seems to slow down. It's a good time for reflection and changes of direction. In many schools of astrology, eclipses represent psychological shifts. It is as though one door is closing, while a new one is opening. When we have a cluster of eclipses -- like we've had recently, with three eclipses in the past month -- this process takes place over the period of that cluster.
In my personal life, I think this manifested in a transition with my business partner, in which I will no longer be doing additional business ventures with him beyond our trading site. So, this door is closing. It has gotten me to the point where I can actually call myself an entrepreneur, where I can live off my own labor. And it's given me "the formula" -- basically the blueprint for how to build profitable niche community sites. So as this door closes, I'm looking for an opening that will set me on the path to building more communities, and then connecting them all. How will I find it? Well, I have a few leads, but really, who knows. I'm confident though that I'll find a way -- or rather that a way will find me. At the very least, I'll have fun and will spread the truth while trying, as evidenced by my forthcoming MTV ad. On a global basis, I think this past month has really put the nail in the coffin on the deflation argument. The US economy is not going through a deflation spiral. I'm sure some will say this is like the bull markets experienced during the Great Depression, which lasted a year or slightly more, but I don't think so. The US economy is drowning in debt and they are already printing money. I don't think we're going to see budget cuts under Obama's big government shopping spree, which means more debt. And as fewer and fewer folks come up willing to lend the US government money, more and more of it will need to be printed. Then -- and this is the real kicker -- speculators will start to see this trend and will exacerbate it by borrowing US dollars to sell them on the market in exchange for another currency. This is the "run on the dollar" that many folks worry about. Rightfully so, in my opinion. This is what causes sharp falls in the value of a currency, which means higher prices, fewer things to buy, longer lines, and more crime. The fourth quarter of 2009 is going to be very, very interesting. Eventually, when things get bad enough, you will realize what you're good buddy Kid Mercury told you was in fact true: only the truth can set you free. To celebrate the eclipse, I'm having an oatmeal raisin cookie. I'm also going to listen to "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler. |
