As readers of this blog know,
Mahalo has been spreading disinformation about the biggest crime of the millennium.
Jason Calacanis asked to be called out when "polluting the infovironment" -- in other words, when spreading spam or disinformation. So, being a fellow info warrior,
I obliged Jason in his request.
After blog posts and comments on his blog, Calacanis sent one of his employees over to this blog.
Here is the link to the comments left by the Mahalo employee who created the page. His name is Mike.
I responded.
The short story is this: Mike argues that Mahalo tries to present both sides of the story. This makes no sense, as Mahalo guides endorse specific articles. This also makes no sense because facts -- which Mahalo tries to include on its search results pages -- are not stories with two sides. For instance, two plus two equals four. That's it. There is no other side to the story. Likewise, there is no other side to the story that the FBI admits there is no hard evidence against Bin Laden for 9/11. That's a fact. Unless Mahalo has some information that is more reliable than the FBI, there is no reason to believe them.
So Mahalo continues to publish disinformation, and does nothing about it when confronted.
This is doubly humorous, albeit tragic, when one considers that the CEO of the company, Jason Calacanis (often referred to by himself and by me as J-Dawg), has vowed to fight disinformation.
And so, since Mahalo is still spreading disinformation about 9/11 -- something especially painful now, since they can no longer claim ignorance -- the game must continue. For those who may be just joining us, the game is that I will continue to publicize this issue until it is addressed.
Today I purchased the domain name MahaloWatch.com. I will create a social news community for people who want to stay informed about Mahalo. The more Mahalo continues to avoid the issue, the more I will market the site.
The game ends when you want it to, Jason.
If you are thinking that it's uncool for me to pick on Jason, please pull your head out of the sand and get clued into reality for just a second. Paul Craig Roberts, a respected columnist for
Counterpunch and former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration, has, in
his latest column, warned that the US government could use a staged terrorist attack to justify declaration of a state of emergency in the United States (and hence the end of constitutional rule) as well as the pre-text to invade Iran. Remember under
National Security Presidential Directive 51, Bush has essentially
given himself dictatorial power in the event of a national catastrophe.
Problem-reaction-solution.
For my brothers and sisters in the business community, recall that esteemed blogger and veteran Internet entrepreneur Marc Andreessen has
voiced his concern that a terrorist attack is his biggest concern regarding the economy and investment climate.
What stops another staged terrorist attack is people waking up to what is going on in the United States. When publishing firms like Mahalo cower away from journalistic integrity, and when they hypocritically attack charity sites for "polluting the infovironment," they are the ones that should be called out on it, and are not deserving of market share. As customers, it is our right and our responsibility to participate in economic systems that reinforce liberty and a healthy moral compass -- for capitalism depends on freedom, and freedom depends on a basic and obvious set of morals that is currently under heavy attack.
Now, I am trying to make the situation as enjoyable as possible by picking on Jason and talking about it in a relaxed, humorous manner. But if you think Mahalo is doing the world a favor by claiming journalistic integrity for whining about Seth Godin's charity site while spreading disinfo on the crime that is the catalyst for the self-destruction of the United States and much of the world as we know it, and if you think I'm the one who's wrong for joyfully exposing this, then all that reflects is that you live in a messed up false reality. Do your research. Turn off 24 and turn on
Terrorstorm. Wake up.
And remember, the goal of the game is to unplug Jason from the false reality that he lives in, and to guide him to becoming the hero that he was born to be. The game ends when Jason wants it to.
Unless Jason chooses to end the game, I'll be back with more on this subject once MahaloWatch.com is launched.
