The Mayan Calendar (see our previous posts on this subject) comes to an end in the end of 2012. This is associated with a few things:

1. A consciousness shift, in which human beings evolve in some way. The consciousness shift is interpreted by many, including yours truly, as something that will require much psychological pain before it yields far greater psychological benefits.

2. The collapse of the nation-state as a form of governance.

The secret masters of the world, the New World Order, are intent upon creating the opposite reality that is intended: rather than psychological evolution, they seek to dumb us down through public education, propaganda, prescription and illegal drugs, and a food and water supply that is becoming more dangerous by the minute. That kinda sucks.

Fortunately I decided to channel Mercury, the messenger, so that I could deliver to you the truth that sets you free. Lucky you!

And the truth, as we have discussed many times before, is that the nation-state will not be replaced by a totalitarian world government, but rather will be replaced by an abundance of niche economies that make it easy to transfer from one economy to another. Imagine, for instance, if you didn't like the US government, and could switch to a new government -- like the Eurozone -- just by switching your digital ID card and moving across the street, to where the EU network is. That'd be pretty cool, eh?

It may be hard for those of you who are not futurists/technologists to see how this could be possible, let alone in our lifetimes. There are three key things that must happen to enble this reality:

1. The development of online communities. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace are examples, but they are primitive; Facebook is the most promising of the aforementioned, and even then I expect them to fail within a few years.
2. The integration of online community data with RFID technology; see our archive on RFID. Many conspiracists, particularly the Christian Patriots, view RFID as "devil" technology. While it is true that the New World Order does plan on using RFID to build their control grid -- see our archive on the microchipped population for just a small piece of how they want this to play out -- it does not change the simple truth that RFID is how you take online technology and put it into the real world. The short and oversimplified explanation of how this works is that you will need an RFID card that will contain all your data, will track all your moves, will have all your banking info, what phone calls you make, who your friends are, how you voted, etc. The RFID card will be able to get information from the Internet and send it back to other databases as well. In this way, online communities can leverage their data to create better experiences and richer communities in the "real" world. Money is the most important thing here; online communities will have their own currency, and through RFID cards and readers, they will be able to spend this currency at merchants who are a part of the same network and can accept their currency.

And so, the intersection of online communities, virtual currencies, and RFID technology is how the nation-state gets disrupted.

The world that awaits us after this is said and done will be far superior to the piece of crap we currently have. All of us have no conscious choice in deciding where we were born, and due to the high costs (both psychological and monetary) of switching to a new economy, most of us do not do so. We thus live in a world that we did not choose to live in.

But on the Internet, you choose what communities you want to be a part of. Maybe you want to be a part of a community of free sex and the swinger lifestyle. Maybe you want to be a part of a totally celibate community. Maybe you want a community of 9/11 truthers. Maybe you want a community of KKK members.

Ultimately, people will end up choosing the communities that reflect their own psychological values. And thus, online communities created by those who can inspire, motivate, and alter our psychology are most likely to succeed in creating full-blown economies capable of collectively disrupting the nation-state. I expect artist communities to be very popular for this reason, as I discussed in a post a few days back.

Will it be a better world? Well, that of course depends on how you define "better," but I think the answer will almost certainly be yes. It is a world in which we choose our culture, rather than having it imposed upon us. It will reflect far more diversity than our current culture, and will break us out of many of our outdated, standardized modes of behaving. From this a renaissance like no other -- one in which human creativity, liberty, and technology are united -- will come to rule the world.

Rejoice, for after the immense amount of pain that will be in the world over the next few years (crisis hasn't even started yet, though we're getting closer to game time), a world so good that the pain will have been worth it awaits us.
