Noel Gallagher Drops the Truth About the Financial Crisis (And the Rise of Tent Cities)

Noel Gallagher on the crisis:

Contrary to popular belief, the crisis is a good and necessary thing, as it paves the way for the destruction of that which has outlived its usefulness, and paves the way for a new creative renaissance. Out of darkness comes light, as we like to say.

Oasis makes some of the best yearning music -- recall our playlist on this subject. U2 has some great yearning music too. I think it's an Irish thing.

It'll be hard for the corporate music industry to address the crisis honestly, because that would require telling the Truth, which we know they are incapable of doing. But they'll probably manage to eek out a few nice songs. Another "Imagine" could really be huge now, in my opinion.

Tent Cities Are Here

Youngsters laughed at me when I listed it as one of my predictions for 2009, but they're here: tent cities. And remember, this is just the beginning. The crisis is going to get worse. A lot worse. The only way out is the Truth, and things will keep getting worse until people decide to respect the Truth. Once that happens, the crisis will disappear faster than it came, and will leave a renaissance in its wake.

But in the mean time, we should get some good songs.
