Predictions for 2009
First, Jason Kolb has some outstanding predictions for 2009. Jason is a Ron Paul supporter which means he is automatically more informed than 95% of Americans. That may sound like an extreme and irrational statement -- although in a world of universal deceit the Truth will always sounds extreme and irrational.
Anyway, here are my predictions for 2009: 1. We start to see signs of civil unrest in the United States. I am expecting riots of some sorts, at least on a small level, and the corporate media will of course try to suppress it. The cause? Could be an economic issue -- i.e. people not being able to get money out of banks, massive inflation. Could be something provocateured by the federal government to create a pretext for the declaration of martial law. Could be food shortages. 2. The Constitution will be formally overthrown; it has already been discarded for all practical purposes, though I think we will see the outright declaration of a police state and the overthrow of the Constitution in 2009. 3. The Obama backlash begins, as it becomes obvious to all but the most passionate and deluded Obama supporters that he offers no real change and is only contributing to the problem. For all the stupid people that voted for Obama because he is black and all the stupid people that voted against Obama because he is black, racial tensions will escalate. As most people voted because of race, this means a lot more racial tension in the US. 4. Unemployment soars. I would expect signs of "tent cities". 5. Collectively, it becomes apparent that we are not in a recession, but rather a depression. 6. In terms of good news, the "all things local" trend continues. This means niche communities online (i.e. niche social networks) as well as a greater emphasis and appreciation of local government. 7. Alternative media rises in popularity. People will still consume and believe the mainstream media because they want to be comforted by lies, but consumption of alternative media will grow, as the need for Truth becomes unavoidable for even the most passionate self-deluders. 8. Greater attacks on the Internet and some type of Internet outages will emerge. This is my greatest fear, but unfortunately the criminals in government know they need to attack the web and most people are still too immature to respect the web and all that it has given us. Fortunately, I expect the web to survive for the most part, though I would urge all of us to speak out on this threat and to be wary of attempts to regulate the web in the name of protecting it. 9. Dow Jones and S&P continue to fall when priced in gold. They may rise in nominal US dollars, although if so, gold will be rising even faster, and the dollar will be falling in purchasing value. 10. USDJPY will fall to at least 85.00 (meaning 1 US dollar will buy you 85 yen). Right now it is just above 89.30 (meaning 1 US dollar buys you 89.30 yen). 11. More and more celebrities will pull a Charlie Sheen and speak out against what is going on. Their motivation is probably not doing the right thing, but rather it will become increasingly apparent that the Truth is what the people need, and being a corporate puppet is not good for sales -- doubly so when the economy is in deep pain. The idea that being silent about politics and controversial stuff because it is "bad for business" will also regress, and we'll see more businesses of every type taking some type of political stance. This is a by-product of the nation becoming more politically divided and distrustful of the government, and thus refusing to tow the party line will be a valuable tool in earning trust. I suspect progress on this front to be very, very slow, so I don't think we should be jumping for joy just yet. Though for those of us who are eager for a cultural revolution, I think the taste we've been getting over the past couple years via the growth of the 9/11 Truth Movement and the Ron Paul Revolution will only continue to grow and accelerate -- albeit not fast enough, unfortunately. 12. I don't think we'll see a collapse of the US dollar or hyperinflation in 2009, though we may see ongoing dollar weakness. Jury is still out for me on whether deflation or inflation is the primary concern regarding the economy in 2009. Certainly by 2012 at the absolute latest inflation and currency devaluation will be the leading concern, and I still maintain that is the biggest issue in the world, as the consequences for the world will be enormous. It will change things forever. 13. Housing prices continue to fall. The American finance industry continues to decline rapidly. This means venture capital, brokerage, derivatives, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions...finance jobs continue to disappear, and will do so rapidly. I am very confident that we will see all this stuff by the end of 2012. I hope that we have time and that not all of this will occur in 2009. The more time we can buy the better off we will be. As always, any real solution begins with Truth. |
