Ron Paul and the Road to Culture 2.0
We know that web 2.0 -- the attention economy, in which reconstruction is used to create personalization -- is not just a business revolution: it is a cultural revolution, one borne out of the socialization of media.
You could call it culture 2.0. Make no mistake: we are already in culture 2.0, but our presence is about to become felt on a deeper level. In the United States, Ron Paul is a weapon in our journey through culture 2.0. Allow me to explain: 1. Ron Paul in Media. In the battle of old media vs. new media, old media is trying to preserve the existing power structure. They are the villian battling the hero. Consider Michelle Malkin, the villian's angel, calling for Ron Paul to be eliminated from the GOP debates. But in new media, the hero, Ron Paul is winning. So the battle is old media vs. new media: will the propaganda of the villian win? Will Ron Paul be kicked out of the GOP debates? Will he continue to be marginalized? Will the reality of the situation, which is that Ron Paul is the only possible candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton, be acknowledged in the collective psyche? Or will the cycle of Bush-Clinton repeat itself. It is a false choice, one between two evils: the drugs and murder crimes of the Bushes, versus the drugs and murder crimes of the Clintons. 2. Ron Paul in Astrological Symbolism. We know that the entrance of Pluto in Capricorn is one of the most important astrological indicators we currently face. Pluto will enter Capricorn in early 2008, although the signs of the nature of the transit can be seen a year or so in advance. Politically, Pluto in Capricorn symbolizes the destruction (Pluto) of traditional masculine authority (Capricorn). This can come to mean Ron Paul as the hero who liberates us by shattering the current tyrannical structure, or it can come to mean Hillary Clinton, who simply replaces the traditional masculine authority with the same warmongering authority, mixed with a dose of socialist tyranny, and masked by the illusion of a caring, maternal image. What meaning the symbol takes is up to us, the new media heroes. For it is the hero who gives the world its meaning. |
