Those who hate on virtual currencies will often cite failed virtual currencies, like Flooz, as an example. Flooz is not really a virtual currency; it was more like a gift certificate. Beenz is a better example of a virtual currency. Here's an article comparing Flooz and Beenz. Beenz I think had the right idea, although execution was not proper and it was too early for virtual currencies (it may still be too early, although as our existing monetary systems collapse, we may find people warming up to the idea). -- KM
