EXCLUSIVE: A Never Before Seen Look at Kid Mercury's Birth Chart
One of the many things the masses know nothing about but laugh at anyway is astrology. Admittedly, I am more sympathetic towards mockery of astrology; after all, astrology cannot be proven. Of course, just because it cannot be proven, does not mean it isn't true. For instance, you probably love your family and/or friends; in fact, that's probably the truest thing in the world for you. But try proving it. Astrology, like its sibling, psychology, is the same.
Anyway, the easiest way to illustrate how great astrology can be is through a sample chart analysis. It's worth noting that there are millions of ways to use astrology, and if you show the same chart to different astrologers, you will likely get two very different intrepretations. If you ever go to an astrologer and find the experience useless, you probably went to an astrologer that wasn't right for you (and/or you may have been completely un-cooperative). So with all this in mind, I present to you my birth chart. ![]() Here's an analysis of some of the key stuff. I'll leave some stuff out, for the sake of privacy, though astute astrologers will probably be able to come to insightful conclusions on their own anyway. Such is the power of astrology! Stellium in the 11th. You'll notice there are a bunch of numbers and shapes densely concentrated in the upper left portion of the chart. To put it in astrospeak, I have a stellium in the 11th house. The 11th house is associated with, among other things, communities; as such, I have energy that is conducive towards building and shaping communities. Unsurprisingly, my career is about.....building online communities! Occassionally, as I assume many if not most entrepreneurs experience, I question whether or not I am correct in my entrepreneurial vision, or if I am as dumb and delusional as the haters would suggest. Then I look at my birth chart, and say, "hey, it makes sense!" And I feel okay. Of course, I'm sure that only reinforces the beliefs of those who view me as delusional..... Also of note is that I have Saturn in the 11th house. In her classic book Saturn: A New Look at an Old Devil, Liz Greene describes Saturn in the 11th as "having difficulty in expressing one's ordinariness." LOL. I rest my case. Of course, the challenge is to turn the problems and negatives into something positive -- the curse into the gift -- and as Saturn is also the planet of diligence and perseverance, Saturn in the 11th can also be expressed as diligence towards community building. Aspects to the Sun and Moon. While there are many, many different ways an astrology chart can be read and how an astrologer can come to his/her conclusions, I think it is a safe bet that one of the most popular astrological techniques is to look at what planets aspect the Sun and Moon in the chart (meaning how they are positioned in relation to the Sun and Moon). In my chart, the Sun and Moon are square (approximately 90 degrees apart), the moon opposes Neptune in the 2nd and forms a wide square to much of the stellium in the 11th. This stuff, as well as the stellium in the 11th, would suggest environmental factors that hinder the development of a stable identity. Insecurity, to put it in more regular terms. The psychological principle of compensation is surely at play here, as is evidenced by creating a grandiose personality and calling myself Kid Mercury. Though I don't really think I'm insecure anymore; if anything I think I'm closer to the opposite, as I now have a cartoon-ish amount of confidence. In my younger days, however, I was certainly very insecure. Uranus in the 1st. Shocking personality. Expresses identity through invention. Will be perceived as an awakener; often a bearer of bad news. LOL. North Node in the 10th. I rely primarily on psychological and evolutionary astrology, and evolutionary astrology in particular places an emphasis on the nodes of the moon (non-physical points related to the position of the moon), and the north node is often viewed as being a key to understanding one's destiny in evolutionary astrology (though I'm sure you'll find those who disagree with that notion). North node in the 10th suggests that spiritual/evolutionary growth is found through one's career. I guess that makes sense, although all I do is work so it's sort of inevitable it would be that way. There's much more I could write, I'm barely scratching the surface here. Though hopefully this post illustrates how astrology can serve as endlessly rich tool in self-understanding; it can serve as a map of your soul, and a tool in healing yourself when you feel lost or "off track." And that's only it's personal use; of course it has wider applications in everything ranging from forecasting financial markets, geopolitical changes, and pretty much everything you can think of. I'll blog more about geopolitical astrology in the near future. |

Similarities in birth chart
Hi, Kid Mercury,
I've found your blog by coincidence. I think I was looking for some information on Saturn (was doing other things parallely). Anyway, I wanted to share with you that our charts are quite similar in the disposition of planets. I also have Sun, Jupiter and Saturn in the 11th house, but they are in Libra. Have 12th house Libra Pluto, just as you, but my Libra Mercury is also there. I have Scorpio rising, Venus (unlike your Mars) conjunct AC and also Scorpio Uranus in the 1st house. Where your Venus is (9th house, almost conjunct MC) I have my Mars, but it is in Leo, not Cancer. I guess I needn't mention that my Neptune is also in Sagittarius in the 2nd house. Moon is in Leo in the 9th house. I've stumbled on a person with similar disposition of planets (he has 6 plantes in Leo) before and I could notice much similarity in "functioning". Would you mind if I asked you a few questions pertaining to some placements? I am curious if there are any similarities in the way we are acting them out. Best, Kid Venus |

Sun/Saturn dynamics
Actually, it's 5 planets in Libra + Venus rising. But I almost feel more Uranian that I do Libran (1st house Uranus, Sun sextile Uranus, Moon trine Uranus, Uranus square MC, Aquarius IC and last but not least 11th house Sun).
I was wondering how you feel your Sun/Saturn dynamics? Even when not conjunct, their energies are focued on the same area of life, aren't they? On one hand there is fear, feeling of not fitting it, awkwardness and on the other a sense of fulfillment, life's purpose. I would describe this as a constant battling with my fears. When I overcome my fears (Saturn), I can enjoy and radiate (Sun). When I refuse to battle, I am just unhappy, trapped by my fears. Does this make sense? KV |

yes, i feel what you are saying about sun/saturn. even though in my chart they are 18 degrees apart, they are still in the same sign (virgo), and it feels very much like a conjunction.
here are some things i think are characteristic of sun/saturn aspects, particularly the conjunction, that i have personally felt in my life: - a sense of pitting one's self against life (often as a need to prove one's self) - a deep sense of insecurity and inferiority (which often results in a need to prove one's self) - saturn tends to create a response of overcompensation; the "positive" side of this is a solid work ethic and sense of humility - lessons to be learned regarding establishing one's own independent identity, and rejecting social impositions that are not consistent with one's true self. this is doubly relevant for me (and perhaps you) given that the sun/saturn aspect is in the 11th house, which would suggest growth via individuality |

![]() pluto just turned direct a few days ago, and re-enters capricorn in late november. i would imagine that is going to impact all your libran energy quite significantly over the next few years. |

As for the Pluto, do you think it makes you a loner? You need time for yourself, understandable, but I don't think your are a loner. Were you one, you wouldn't be seeking contacts with other people via Interent. Maybe you are just a very private person - I know I am and that's why I keep people around me on a certain distance. But then again, you are a Libra rising, you're supposed to be outgoing, relationships initializing.Quote:
If you survived transiting Pluto squaring your Virgo bunch, I'll survive too. Plus, don't forget, we still got our Saturn return comming up ... When transiting Saturn will conjunct your natal Saturn, it will obscure my Sun ... You can have a glimpse at my chart here. Erm, sorry about the length of my post, I'll try to keep it shorter next time. |

i must admit i'm finding it quite fascinating to see a chart that is so similar to mine. thanks for sharing it.
regarding the jupiter/saturn conjunction in the 11th, i think it's worth considering the 11th house is also associated with pursuit of ideals, i.e. making dreams come true. the jupiter/saturn conjunction, which affects all of us born in that age range (late 70's to early 80's) has been described by liz greene as wrestling with "selling your soul." at least for me, this conjunction in the 11th i feel has been about finding a way to pursue my ideals without "selling my soul." for me, pluto transiting through sagittarius (second house for you and me) was about a rebirth in values and finances. during this time i went from making a low starting salary to rising the corporate ladder and making a good salary, only to quit and sell all my crap to start my own business. it was clearly a financial rebirth, and a values rebirth in that it required me to abandon a personal value system that no longer served me. pluto's still going to be in your second house for quite some time, almost another decade, so perhaps you'll face something similar. though the exact square to your sun is coming up pretty shortly, which i think is the most exciting thing in your chart. of course you'll survive -- in fact i'm sure it'll end up making you stronger, as pluto tends to do. chiron in the 7th, as well as neptune in the 2nd, the stellium in the 11th and pluto in the 12th, (we both have all those placements) suggests great potential as a psychologist, therapist, or psychic. i sometimes feel i could've gone that route (though ultimately i am quite pleased with my current route). though i do think astrology is a great way of cultivating those capabilities, and probably symbolizes why i (and perhaps you) were both drawn to astrology. and feel free to make your posts as long as you'd like -- it's rare that i get to have an astrological conversation, rarer that i get to have one with a person who is fluent in astrology, and even rarer that i get to have one with a person whose chart is so strikingly similar to mine! ![]() |

I cannot really identify with "selling my soul" experience of Jupiter/Saturn conjunction, maybe because I haven't followed any ideals yet, blocked by very powerful resistance to new adventures. I have this fear I cannot really explain; people and circumstances have to push me into new situations (which at the end of the day I "enjoy") in order to grow (expand) in the jupiterian sense of the word.
I can only wish I'm heading for a similar rebirth you've been through (considering the Pluto transit in the 2nd house). Nice story. (Btw., I already had two exact tPluto/Sun squares, the last one is going to happen in December.)The things you say about having potential as a psychologist, I can totally relate to. And with Scorpio rising, Gemini on the cusp of the 8th house, it's ruler conjunct Pluto in the 12th, this is just reinforced. But like you, I don't think I will really "throw myself" into that. I channel this part of me through astrology and my interest into all things metaphysical. I am curious about your 3rd house. Which sign does it have on it's cusp: Sagittarius or Capricorn? Can you briefly comment on that? |

the cusp of my 2nd/3rd house is 29 degrees sagittarius. so, looks like pluto is about to conjunct it and enter my third house.
i would think of this as a few things: 1. potential financial boost as pluto exits my second (i sure hope so! )2. communication (3rd house) about survival (pluto) 3. obsession with data aggregation 4. evolutionary challenge will be to synthesize this data aggregation into a cohesive idea (as evolutionary need is symbolized by polarity point in 9th house) 5. authority (capricorn) comes from communication (3rd house) ultimately i'm not sure though, will be interesting to see what happens. ![]() |
