The Strategy for Brand Hijacking (And How YOU Can Get Involved!)

The Strategy for Brand Hijacking (And How YOU Can Get Involved!)

I recently talked about brand hijacking -- the practice of going to online communities and trying to hijack their brand by making them associated with 9/11 Truth and the Truth Movement. Basically I'm trying to brand all these online communities as Truther destinations.

If you'd like to play along, I'd recommend following me on Disqus and IntenseDebate. You can then see where I'm leaving comments and can join in and leave 9/11 Truth comments as well. I'll follow you as well, so that we can go around commenting together. It won't take much to hijack a community; if we can get 20 people to leave comments every time a blogger makes a post, and if we make a habit out of this, we'll effectively hijack the community. I'd also recommend making the black INVESTIGATE 9/11 t-shirts the "uniform" of the Truth Movement; if we all leave comments and have a profile pic where each one of us is wearing that shirt, it will have a big psychological impact.

Targeting the Right Business Communities

The communities I'm focusing on hijacking are a part of the Internet business world. There are several reasons for this:

1. It's where I feel I personally can be the most influential
2. These people are influential not only in the business world, but in the blogosphere in general.
3. Though most people don't realize it, America is gone. The country is dead and, barring a miracle, it's not coming back. Ron Paul was our last shot at turning things around, but the people are either buying the Obama propaganda or are honestly dumb enough to support McCain (McCain supporters represent the worst of America; the cultural hubris, the stupidity, the warmongering.....I understand falling for Obama's propaganda as he's a slick salesperson, but McCain???!?! He's not even slick, just an outright thug). Anyway, when it comes time to rebuilding things, I think technology is going to play a huge role. The sooner the business technology people get on board the easier rebuilding things will be. In all likelihood they are not going to wake up until the sincerity of all this hits home, but let us at least take a shot at planting the seeds of liberty now.

Who to Target?

Here are the specific people I'm targeting, and why:

1. Marc Andreessen. Marc doesn't allow comments on his blog, although as regular readers of KidMercuryBlog are all too familiar, I'm getting a huge kick out of publicizing Marc's support for the Truth Movement. While this is largely for my own amusement, it is not without strategic purpose: Marc is hugely influential, a true technology visionary who knows where the web is going, and is high enough on Maslow's hierarchy to be motivated by more than just personal gain. Marc doesn't allow comments on his blog, but I recommend covering my song for Marc, or writing a blog post about Marc and how he has used his blog to support 9/11 truth. If you have a site that ranks well in the search engines, we can create a page on Marc for your site, and then we can get the whole Truth community to link to it, so that it ranks well in search engines (I can help you in other ways to ensure the page is optimized for search rankings). That's how we can hijack Marc's brand.

2. Fred Wilson. Fred has a hugely popular blog, is one of the smartest guys on the web, is hugely influential, and like Marc, is high enough on Maslow's hierarchy to seek more than just personal gratification from life. Fred routinely talks politics on his blog and leaves comments open. He is also "Mr. Social Media" in the sense that he thinks blogging and vlogging and podcasting and all that crap are revolutionary -- which of course they are. Though to be all about social media and not talk about the Truth is to completely and utterly miss the point.

In any event, this is a fantastic opportunity for the Truth Movement. If we can get just 20 people to drop Truth on Fred's blog every chance we get, I think we'll be able to hijack his brand. Given how influential Fred is, if we can hijack his brand we'll be in a great position to get other people to embrace 9/11 Truth. It will also be kind of amusing if you have a sense of humor like mine (which you probably don't, but I'll continue hoping anyway).

3. Paul Kedrosky. An influencer, particularly in the area of finance. This is low-hanging fruit for those of us in the conspiracy crowd; the rest of the world doesn't know WTF is going on with the economy and we know the Federal Reserve is the primary culprit here, and we know what their larger agenda is (North American Union and the Amero, which will of course pave the way for a one world government and currency). Connecting the economic problems -- overinflation of the money supply -- to the war (war economy requires bigger government, which requires taxation and/or inflation of the money supply) paves the way for connecting that to 9/11 truth (because 9/11 truth ends war). Finance and economics blog communities are thus very hijackable for the 9/11 Truth Movement. Just a few regular commenters who are reasonably well informed is all we need.

4. Jeff Nolan. Venture capitalist. Still trapped in the right/left paradigm, but at least talks about politics, and has even hated on our friend Alex Jones before. Not as influential as some others, but I enjoy his blog, and given that he regularly talks about politics, there are plenty of opportunities to drop Truth.

5. Brad Feld. Venture capitalist. He is one of the smarter guys on the web who knows where the web is headed, and is fairly influential. A lot of these venture capital people aren't going to wake up to the magnitude of the problem until we get the sequel to 9/11 as well as until all their investment opportunities disappear because of inflation. But they are going to feel it before most people do -- they already are seeing opportunities disappear, and their industry is in the midst of being vastly reshaped -- so it is worth branding them with the Truth, in my opinion.

6. Dave Winer. Dave is Mr. Social Media in the sense that he is often credited with pioneering social media technologies. Thus, his brand is definitely worth hijacking. His popular blog is all about the Obama Kool-Aid, and Obama is slick enough where the Obama fans probably aren't going to wake up until he gets in office and the same agenda of big government/inflation/war continues along without the slightest bump.

And of course, most if not all of these people will get their own song from me at some point -- we've got Marc and Fred taken care of already (here and here). I'm still a big fan of spreading the Truth by writing songs about people; that will definitely help us rank in search engines and will be more celebratory overall. Musician brands are, of course, also on my list of brands to hijack -- truther songs about Jason Mraz and Tristan Prettyman are in the works. LOL. Yes, it's all so very kooky (were you expecting something else from me?), but it would work if you people would play along. Fran Healy, my second favorite active songwriter (second only to Noel), said that music is very subversive. It's true. Which is why we all need to sing these songs I'm writing! Man, you at least gotta admit I'm working hard at all the crap I do. And this isn't even my job, people -- I still spend the bulk of my day building my Internet company that is going to change the world.

So there you have it. Now let's go do some hijacking!
