It's hard to take Arrington seriously on anything related to journalism/blogging when he calls himself a "hardcore libertarian" and endorses John McCain when a community poll clearly indicated Ron Paul was the winner. If that doesn't scream "sell out" nothing does.
But the basic idea that Arrington presents in his excessively long post is that the battle for talent is going to accelerate. And that is part of why the notion of the firm is getting completely revolutionized: because real talent wants to be its own boss, and the way to get real talent to work together is going to have to involve more ways of helping independent talent work together -- not raising a lot of money and forcing them to operate under the confines of a single corporation with a single structure and brand. An organizational structure that affords greater creative freedom is needed. When it comes, it will be truly revolutionary. -- KM
