Ran into some major problems with this blog over the weekend; essentially the site crashed, the primary backup was corrupted, and so I had to resort to updating via an older backup. Some of the daily news posts from last week were lost. Apologies any inconvenience that may have caused you.
I also moved this site to a new server -- a slower one. The reason for this is that this site is still relatively low on the priority list; other sites are more important for making money, and are, thankfully, growing in popularity, and so I need to devote more resources to them. Cash is still a scarce resource for me, and I can't justify splurging for more bandwidth for this site; kidmercuryblog.com is primarily for experimenting, and for spreading the Truth (and my own personal amusement). In terms of technology, consider it in permanent beta.
On that note, some of you may have experienced some technical difficulties with the site. The good news is that we'll be making some technology upgrades over the next month. The shopping cart that I said would be ready by the end of January seems to be getting closer to release, and the points/virtual currency system (
MercBucks) will get a few tweaks as well. Once that's installed, the site will get yet another significant overhaul.
So, in sum, sorry for the failures. But hey, that's what life is about
: failing, learning, repeating. The good news is that if you come to the site for daily news and just visit the home page, or if you consume via RSS, then you shouldn't notice any of the problems. And things should stay that way.
