Alright!
Alex Jones, the most visible person in the Freedom Movement outside of Ron Paul, just launched the Infowars social network.
Check it out.
Alex is a great example of what the media business is going to look like in the future, beyond the matrix. A couple of key points:
1. The media is distributed freely, with remixing and reproduction being encouraged. It's all about getting a passionate community to do your work for you (or, to put it in more politically correct terms, to get them to "co-create your product and brand").
2. The social networking stuff is going to get commoditized -- a concept fellow 9/11 Truther
Marc Andreessen and his company
Ning clearly understand. Media is used to build communities. Put those two ideas together, and you can see how the future is in investing in creating quality media to build a monetizable community.
The one missing ingredient is monetization. Money is important, because it's the scoreboard of the game.
I'm still working on the monetization formula. A few thoughts:
1. virtual currencies and profiting from exchange rates
2. creating a marketplace
3. ads
