So I have a female friend who is trying to set me up with a friend of hers.
Can't hurt, I suppose. Worth a shot, right?
It does bring up the problem, though, of the fact that I am unplugged from the matrix, while the potential date is not. For those who may not be familiar with this blog, "unplugged from the matrix" is synonymous with "conspiracy theorist." Only the connotation is different; I mean it as a positive because it is the Truth, not a "theory" or "opinion."
Anyway. Most people know nothing about government/law/politics and don't care to know -- they find it boring. (No word yet on whether they find tyranny, inflation, taxes, war, and corruption -- the prices paid for their apathy -- to be boring as well.) Most of my current friends fall in this category, and we seem to get along well, though I do worry about their insistence upon ignoring my warnings while coddling themselves with the propaganda offered by television. Still, though, I can be good friends with them, and so I think I could date a person plugged into the matrix.
Of course, there are limits to how serious the relationship could get before it would be a serious issue. For instance, if I were to have kids today, there is no way I would allow them to be vaccinated. They're not going to public school either. And no fluoridated tap water or aspartame-filled diet soda.
For us crazy "conspiracy theorists," such behavior is the norm. For those plugged into the matrix, such behavior is a cultural anomaly -- and thus perhaps something to be feared and rejected.
Regardless of what the mainstream thinks, though, one thing is for certain: our current society is collapsing, and as this progresses, people are going to have to make choices. Political conversations are often shunned now; they can be uncomfortable, and people would prefer to talk about football, which is generally fun and popular. In the not too distant future, though, people will have no choice but to have these conversations, as our governance systems will need to be rebuilt as our current ones collapse.
