This is weakening the community value of YouTube, though. For instance, when I watch some music videos of artists I like that have international audiences, I will see comments in foreign languages, which I obviously can't read. This is one example of why YouTube can't really build communities, and why it needs to embrace a syndication-based advertising model, so that niche communities can create their own "YouTube mashups." Call it the ActoStrategy! :D

Most of the heavily watched videos on YouTube are in English. But that's changing. A quick glance at "Most Popular" lists reveals that YouTube has become an international (or at least, multilingual) phenomenon.
