I got into the beta test of Google Mashup Editor, which I'm assuming is the the Google equivalent of Yahoo Pipes.

Much to my surprise, I did not find it to be a very good tool; too hard to use, too much thinking required. I've come to expect excellence, especially in the realm of usability, from Google, so I found this quite surprising. But, in all fairness, my criticism is a bit premature; after all, I was initially a bit of a downer on Google Reader, but as they kept working on it and listening to and implementing user feedback, it won over a lot of people -- myself included.

Anyway, a simple and easy to use mashup maker is something that I think will really push us along the move towards the mashup web and the reconstruction economy, which is going to be a big game changer in terms of the evolution of the web.
