A long but interesting post in the link below. Fred's kids seem to be very active Internet users; my younger cousins, whom I always interrogate about their Internet habits when I see them, say that they use the Internet to keep in touch with existing friends (i.e. strengthen their social graph) and, more importantly, get great content. Without paying for it. YouTube is hugely popular amongst my cousins for this reason.
The post below questions whether books will ever be affected by the Internet. I think they will be, and I can't wait until it gets good enough. I want to be able to highlight passages, cross-reference passages, share it with friends, allow comments.....that is part of how publishing will get really revolutionized. Right now I do a lot of this stuff manually, so I am really craving for a good ebook reader. Kindle does not appear to be it (although I hope I'm wrong on that) and I don't think the market is really ready for it anyway. But it's coming. -- KM
