Who Else is Talking About the Inverse Universe?

In the literal sense, not many people. But in terms of who is essentially saying the same stuff, a lot of people.

BubbleGeneration. Umair Haque writes: "That is, edge competencies are focused on learning how to utilize the universe of value outside the firm – leveraging value creation external to the firm, and, in many cases, external to all firms." Same idea as the Inverse Universe concept.

John Hagel. He talks a lot about the "edge as the new core" type of stuff too.

Dan Pink. His book Free Agent Nation is essentially about the changes in the work place and work culture that will emerge as a result of value shifting to the edge. His book A Whole New Mind talks about the mental skills that are becoming valuable in this new "edge-based" business world.

The Paradigm Shift. A less cultural, more business-oriented version of Dan Pink's ideas; as the one man show behind PlentyofFish.com, Markus embodies a lot of the ideas behind the Inverse Universe/value-shifting-to-the-edge theory.

Mashable. Pete Cashmore's blog, Mashable.com, features many companies that are essentially Inverse Universe/edge companies. A lot of them are social networks.

Chartreuse. Kinda talks about the same stuff (the edge), but definitely lives it -- the blog is media remixed and brought to you by Chartreuse. In other words, he makes a universe, and gives it to you. One of the best examples of media done Inverse Universe style that I've seen. I've stolen part of his style and integrating it into mine, and plan on stealing more in the future.

The start page of this mini-series is here.

Thanks.
