Pluto, Capricorn, and Your Business

Pluto, Capricorn, and Your Business

I'm working on an astrology site right now, and so I'm thinking about the next big astrological event on a global scale, which I think will be Pluto's entrance into Capricorn in February of 2008.

The most basic interpretation of Pluto in Capricorn is that we will see the destruction (symbolized by Pluto) of traditional authority (symbolized by Capricorn). Pluto entering Capricorn is particularly problematic for the United States when one considers the US astrological chart; KarmicKnowledge had a nice writeup on this. Pluto will be in Capricorn until 2023.

We can usually begin to see and feel the impact of Pluto moving to a different a sign about a year before it does, and I think we're seeing the signs now; US war with Iran looks imminent, and that could be a true game changer into how our global society operates politically, economically, and culturally. Our mini-series on culture 2.0 can be thought of as an exploration of how Pluto's entrance into Capricorn will play out in our society.

A Quick Note on Astrology

First -- yes, it works. I don't know why. Most astrologers don't know why. But it works.

Secondly: how well it works depends on the astrologer, just like how well your house is put together depends on the construction team that created your house. If you're ever looking for a good astrological consultation, I recommend Eric Francis and Erin Sullivan. There are of course many great astrologers, but those are two I can recommend with confidence.

Last but not least: there are many different kinds of astrology, and while there are big overlaps between them (namely, all of them view planetary movement as symbolic of what happens in our lives -- i.e. "as above, so below") there are differences in how they are used in life. I find great value in astrology as a tool for therapy and self-discovery; as such I view astrology as a tool that bridges the gap between psychology and spirituality. The two subdivisions of astrology that I favor are psychological astrology and evolutionary astrology. Below is a great two minute video of Deborah Sipple talking about evolutionary astrology.
