These terms we're using -- social graph, graph, semantic web -- they're awful. AWFUL! We need simpler words, as well as some cute, intuitive pictures to help convey the idea. Where's Kathy Sierra when you need her?
Anyway, one commenter in the article below said it's all about structured data -- which I agree with. The next phase is about everyone having the ability to restructure the web -- to "roll their own web," so to speak. Structured data is needed to make this possible. Alex Iskold dropped a killer post on all ya'll regarding this topic a while back. Definitely worth a read, a bookmark, and a re-read. -- KM

OK. Even more misconception going on today about the www, almost everyone misinterpreting this post from Tim Berners-Lee. Tim is saying that there is another layer of abstraction emerging: net --> www --> graph.
