The article says we are doomed to be under a single, centralized database. This is true, in the sense that the New World Order wants to create a one world government with everything (including people) being microchipped. The Internet, though, is the salvation. The real potential of the Internet is in distributed cores. We haven't gotten very far there yet, although it's coming, and will be one of the big disruptions to look forward to over the next few years. -- KM

Call his theme the AOL-ization of technology. Instead of personal computers being able to run any program from any source without approval from a third party, which many of us became used to in the 1980s and 1990s, Zittrain fears we're entering a world where centralized approval becomes necessary.
