Is Facebook Really Censoring Search When It Suits Them? (Michael Arrington/TechCrunch)

I doubt Facebook is doing anything intentionally deceitful here. Although I don't trust Facebook -- I haven't since day one, as they require you to register to participate in their world (and hence they limit interoperability on their terms -- not yours -- in a major way). I also know that many people, myself included, trust Arrington more than they trust Facebook. Which is the real reason that the Facebook hype is overblown, as it can and will be "outtrusted" by someone else. And trust is the key source of value in the social graph game. -- KM

Is Facebook Really Censoring Search When It Suits Them? — Earlier this month I wrote a blog post showing that a search for presidential candidate "Ron Paul" in Facebook Groups yields zero results. Facebook blamed the problem on a bug (unofficially, via comments by employees to that post), which was later corrected.
