Meme of the Week. Blog Action Day (BAD). Man this was awful. I'm going to blog more about how awful it was, how lame the fear-o-sphere is, and what we can do to change it. Don't worry, I'll make it business related so even if you are passionately apathetic about stuff like this you'll still get something out of it.
Here is was my Blog Action Day post.
Post of the Week. 3 Kinds of Value in Networks. This post sheds insight into conceptual SEO as well as how to create systems that maximize the efficiency of attention allocation.
News Item #1 of the Week. Twine got a good amount of buzz, and
was even heralded as the first mainstream semantic web app. I think it's too complicated; even the
idea is too complicated (but I still like it a lot, I just think it is too early for it). Also, not so sure they are the first mainstream semantic web app -- what about the stuff
AdaptiveBlue makes?
News Item #2 of the Week. Flock. I think
Fred brings up a good point about how this could be the "social media living room." I'm a little skeptical of browser plays because they are so tough to get adoption -- but of course they are total game changers when they do get adopted. Now if Flock ends up being
one of Ballmer's 20 acquisitions, well then.....
Blog Showdown of the Week. Scoble vs. Feldman. Feldman is the instigator here (at least in this round of the showdown), as he dropped a video directly hatin' on Scoble. In the comments, Scoble strikes back, reminding all ya'll who's an A-lister -- and who's not. Ouch!
Kid Mercury Blog Update. Still adding a ton of content --
check it out. It's a little disorganized and all over the place, but the sorting will begin soon. First I gotta get all the crap in.
US News & Government Item of the Week. Establishment Media Finally Admits Ron Paul Is Top Tier Candidate.
Hope you had a great week, and that next week ends up being ever better. Thanks for reading.
