It is a loving, creative, connected consciousness and it resonates at a high frequency. But right after I experienced this I also had a bunch of breakdowns in my nervous system. So my conclusion is that the shift is happening but the old me (the ego based me) is fighting for dear life to 'not evolve.'

You can see it in the desperation of certain religious groups who deny a collective spiritual existence and feel their own doctrines slipping away so they dig their heels in and go to the extreme dark side of desperation.
YES! I think you nailed the experience. Though in my personal opinion, the fundamentalist Christian + conspiracy crowd (i.e. "Christian patriots") do have the right idea. Christianity is, like all religions, false, but the essence of love and "the Truth will set you free" is I feel very true, which is why so many of them "get" the overall shift that is happening. The problems arise when they take things too literally rather than symbolically.

As we approach 2012, I expect many people to have the same type of experience you are describing. They are connecting to the eternal Source and realizing they are a part of it. It requires "ego dissolution," as you described -- acceptance of the fact that you are a part of a much larger system, which can be psychologically challenging in many ways.

The fact that you use the term "frequency" is a great choice of words and a very apt description, in my opinion. Icke talks a lot about that.
